Life Groups

Life Groups

Life groups are one of our primary environments where people can learn to love, live and serve like Jesus together. They are typically around 4-12 people who commit to meeting weekly to build deeper relationships with God and deeper relationships with one another.

Life groups are patterned after Acts 2:42 where the early believers devoted themselves to "the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."  Life Groups look at how to apply Sunday's teaching to their lives in practical ways. Most life groups have snacks or refreshments, plan at least one fun event per 10-week season, and spend time each meeting praying with and for each other. Groups also adopt a mission project to participate in as a group.

Each life group session is 10 weeks long. The year is divided into three sessions (fall, winter, and spring). Groups typically take a break during the summer months, though some choose to have informal meetings. Weekly meetings are typically 1-2 hours long

Gateway has 3 kinds of Life Groups: 1) co-ed life groups for both men and women together, 2) women's life groups for women only, and 3) men's life groups for men only. All follow the same general format making the focus of their study time the application of Sunday's teaching.
